In 'In the spotlight' we interview one of our applicating companies to share with you their experiences with Liquid Rubber®. This time we spoke with Raymond Hudepohl, managing director of MTH and certified applicator of Liquid Rubber®.
Who is MTH?
"MTH b.v. was founded by Raymond Hudepohl in 2003. The assembly work he did for a number of customers expanded rapidly. In 2004 the first experienced assembly workers were contracted and the projects became larger and more complex. The company is aiming at niche markets, MTH b.v. is looking for challenges in different kinds of works such as placing bamboo window frames in the office building of KPMG in Amstelveen or the indoor skate rink in Enschede, next to the FC Twente stadium.
From the beginning, MTH was involved in international projects, both small and large. From assembling an ammonia evaporation plant in Saragossa (Spain) to the total project management of a private resort in Okija, Nigeria."
How did you get in touch with Liquid Rubber®?
"A company nearby had a sample of Liquid Rubber®. This company produces metal gutters and treats the seams with kit. They were not yet familiar with Liquid Rubber® and did not pay any attention to it. Their philosophy: "we have done it like this for years, so why change?". But do not say such things to me, because then I want to know all about it. After some searching on the internet I found Liquid Rubber Europe and then the ball started rolling."
How are you planning to enter the market with this?
"We want to address our network, which is very vast. Ofcourse we use the original promotion material from Liquid Rubber Europe and we hope to reach a large part of the market through the internet. But the best way of promotion is word-to-mouth advertising."
What do you think the additional value of Liquid Rubber® will be to your segment?
"I think we must not think in segments, Liquid Rubber® is so versatile and I do not want to limit the possibilities. So not only concrete foundations and cellar sealants, but also roofing and metal construction.
If you position yourself as a roofing company, you will only get roofing jobs. I think that's a lost opportunity if you can also do constructions. We have arranged our truck for the easy application of Liquid Rubber®. Now it is very easy to switch with our 2-composant pump between SealRoof and CreteSafe, so as far as I am concerned, we can enter both markets at the same time."
What is your experience in working with Liquid Rubber Europe?
"My experience with Liquid Rubber Europe came to live through Ed Puts. He invited me to come over to Mijdrecht and have a look in the well-furnished showroom. I like the collaboration, whenever we call we always get a swift and correct answer. Especially in the beginning I had a lot of questions and then it's nice if the response is quick and thorough.
In the meantime I also made an automatic cleaning system for the pump that makes it easy to work with and prevents loss of material. Let's be honest: every liter you spill, cost you. By using different taps we can switch swiftly between the different products. I now think that we can easily spray 2 m2 and still be cost-efficient."
