When the surface is too cold or when the outside temperature is too low, this may cause adhesion problems, as a cause of which protective coatings may set loose.    Liquid Rubber Europe now has a unique additive that will make Liquid Rubber® products suitable for application up to -10˚C: Liquid Rubber® WinterGrade.    This means that a lot of work does not have to wait anymore until temperatures rise again. And also a cold surface no longer is a problem.          Liquid Rubber® WinterGrade is very easy to use: apply the right dose to a product from the S-series or to the B-400, stirr well and the existing product is ready to use. This way it is not necessary to order a new pale and also an already opened pale can be used clean. From 10 till 14 January 2012 the Deubau took place in Essen (Germany). The Deubau is a large international trade show for the construction segment. 

 

Liquid Rubber Europe is busy spreading out its international network and was present at this trade show to get in contact with possible distributors for Northern, Middle and Eastern Europe. 

 

So this time, the evaluation will not take place while enjoying a pastisse, like during the Batimat in Paris, but this time we settle for fair, golden beer! Cheers!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In 'In the spotlight' we interview our applicating or distributing partners to tell you about their experiences with Liquid Rubber® within their discipline.

This time we spoke with Bas van Mill, Commercial Manager at Vavier Marine Coatings, part of the Diba Group. 

 

Bas answers to the following questions: 

 

"The Diba Group exists of a mix of companies, strategically spread throughout the Netherlands, that are all specialised in delivering and applying artificial floors. Each of those companies has its own speciality. In this way we can offer a wide range of applications within the group all over the country. Withing this group one of these companies, Vavier Artifical Floors BV, settles in Hendrik Ido Ambacht, is the stimulating force behind the application of Liquid Rubber®."

 

"Vavier Artificial Floors is concentrating on the marine segment amongst others and sees Liquid Rubber® as a very good application for outer decks, both for anti-slip and anti-corrosive purposes. Not only decks but also hulls can be treated with Liquid Rubber®, as can water tanks."

 

"The main advantage of working with Liquid Rubber® is that we can spray-apply it and that in this way multiple layers can be applied in one day, provided the right conditions of course. Compared to

2-composant artificial products, like epoxy or polyurethane material, this means a higher output and therefor an interestion price-quality ratio for the customer. Next to that, applying HighBuild S-200 means that you no longer are dependant of a primer applied by external parties, so this way you are manager of your own quality."

 

"Currently a number of projects on board of ships have been realised, not only on decks and gangways, but also on the roofs of steering huts. But in the marine segment we also have projects in utility, industry and other segments. For example, we also prepared a gallery of a flat with Liquid Rubber®. In this project we sprayed the whole gallery, not only the horizontal surface but also the gutter and the vertical walls. We also prepared a number of staircases with this material. Up to now to the full satisfaction of our clients."

 

"All in all we are highly satisfied with the applications and possibilities that the Liquid Rubber® products offer us and we are trying to convert projects in which we would normally use traditional artificial materials, to Liquid Rubber® products, since this material suits better in terms of use and product characteristics than the current products we still use."

 

 

 

Comeback You may have heard about it but hopefully did not notice it: we had to do without our Operations Manager, Ed Puts, for over a month and a half. Ed had to deal with a troublesome recovery after a surgery to his esophagus that went wrong. So understandably he needed time to heal.    In his absence the team did its utmost to make sure that existing and new projects could still continue and that clients were serviced in the way they are used to. Guys, you did a good job, well done!    And as for Ed: we bought you straws, custard and baby food. Welcome back!
